Riot Grrrl Ink (RGI) is the largest queer label in the world. Our produce and support roster is over 150 strong and includes bands, artists, film makers,  singer / songwriters, authors, poets, nonprofits, community organizations, record labels and social justice organizations.

At RGI we help make queer art specifically at the intersection of politics and social change. The artists that call our roster home craft art that is designed to inspire people to become aquainted with their own potential and develop connections to their community simultaneously. 

RGI runs on a radical capitalism business model where 100% of our profits go directly to our artists or back into our community through direct action. We are the only record label in the world that signs nonprofits and social justice organizations just like artists.  Some of the nonprofits & Social Justice organizations that we work with are Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women, With Literacy & Justice for All; and HIPS: Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive. 

Being a Radical Capitalist Company means we take some aspects of traditional capitalism and combine them with non-profit business models and various other alternative business plans.  We at RGI feel now more than ever we need independent thinkers with resources who are not afraid to share them. Capitalism is not the four-letter word that some in our community think it is.  Capital is just resources, what is unforgivable is the hoarding of resources, when 96 % of this country's wealth is owned by 4% of the population. Radical Capitalism allows us to invest our profits in our community through art & activism with out a board to slow the giving process down.  An artist can contact us on a Monday and if need be, have support within a matter of weeks.  That is a big difference from the 6-12 month turn around of nonprofit grants.  

Radical Capitalism means we let go of traditional aspects of business plans like advertising. We think there is enough “stuff” in the world and consumerism is part of the problem. All of these corporations saying we need to buy stuff because we are not good enough just the way we are.  Instead of an advertising budget we funnel that money & resources into direct community actions   Like our Take Back the Night Project. Last year we helped 80 rallies happen all over the word instead of buying glossy ads in magazines.

Radical Capitalism lets the money you spend with us go directly back to you through art, activism and community actions. Hopefully along the way we help provide the soundtrack to your lives.  

In the current economic environment that we find ourselves in, we at RGI think its fundamental to the recovery of the economy that we all explore alternative business models.  We are not saying that our business model is the answer to everything. We feel that if we explore alternative models, and so do you and other people in our community  - that if we work together to share information & resources – what works and what does not – no longer seeing each other as competition and working together we can work together to redefine this country's economic landscape and create a “trickle up effect.”
